When you think of a ‘luxury yacht,’ it conjures up visions of lying on a sun-soaked deck with a drink in hand. As much as we love a charter designed for rest and relaxation, sometimes the occasion calls for a bit of organised fun—perfect for guests who love a lively itinerary.
So, what does that look like? Don’t worry; we’ve got you covered! We’ve compiled a list of all the ways to surprise and delight your guests (or even your boss!) at your next event on Sydney Harbour.
With SUP-ing, clay bird shooting, aqua golf, jet boat riding, and sommelier accompaniment – there is something for everyone.

1. Swimming Toys
Okay, we hear you. It seems obvious.
But in our experience, many people are not confident swimming off the back of a boat in Sydney Harbour, but it doesn’t need to stop them having a go.
If you want everyone to try a salty Sydney Harbour swim, why not hire some swimming toys that make the plunge more accessible?Â
- Stand-up paddleboards (SUPs) – most charter boats have SUPs available for hire, starting at $80 per board, including Enigma and Felix. Everyone can have a go standing or kneeling, perhaps even challenging yourself to a paddle to a nearby beach (if close enough).
- Sun Chill – available on Enigma and Felix, the Sun Chill is the perfect swim toy for sitting and relaxing on the water. With a large circular inflatable ring and net to keep you propped up, it’s a very cosy way to lounge in the water. Highly recommended for family cruises – our kids love it. $150 hire fee on Enigma and Felix.
- Aqua Lilypad – comes free on most charter boats; the Lilypad is a foam mat that is buoyant and allows guests to sit on top or hold on to the edges whilst submerged.
- Pool pontoon – now, this is a winner for large groups and guests who want to sit in the harbour with their feet dangling in the water. It’s always a hit! $400 hire fee on Enigma and Felix.
- Slide – let’s take it next level. A select few boats offer slide hire to your charter, and doesn’t it look fun?! From $2,500 per hire and a minimum five-hour hire as it takes quite a while to set up, it’s a bougie but seriously fun addition to your day on the water.
It’s worth mentioning that some superyachts require notice for plans to swim and charge for lifeguards.
Another great swimming hack is the BYO pool noodle for any guest who is not confident in the water. We don’t provide these as they blow away too easily and can be difficult to retrieve, but if a guest is willing to supply their own and take care of it so we don’t pollute our beautiful harbour, it’s worthwhile.

2. Clay Bird Shooting
Perfect for those groups with a healthy competitive spirit, laser clay bird shooting is always a huge hit at corporate and social events. From $1750 per session, clay bird shooting always books out in summer, so you need to get in quick.Â
How does it work?Â
Well, players fire authentic 12-gauge shotguns converted to fire harmless infrared beams. Clays with omnidirectional reflective tape are fired, and players aim and shoot. When a shooter hits the target, the beam is reflected back and registers a hit on the scoreboard. Sound effects enhance the experience. Up to five players can shoot at a time, and the winner takes allllll…. And by all, we mean a trophy and bragging rights forever more.Â
3. Aqua Golf
We all work with someone who is golf-mad, and Aqua Golf is a great way to add activity and friendly competition to your next charter – no experience necessary. Aqua Golf is played with balls made from fish food, so you can rest easy knowing no animals will be harmed by balls left behind from this activity.Â
Is anyone else thinking about Kramer and the Whale in Seinfeld?! And George, the marine biologist.
Aqua Golf is available on selected yachts, including Felix and ONEWORLD, and looks as cool as this on the harbour…
4. Spectacular Sommelier
If you’re into your wine, why not invite a roaming sommelier to your cruise to introduce you to exciting new Australian and International wines throughout the day. With your guidance on what you like, our sommeliers will select a handful of wines to serve throughout the day, roaming around discretely and talking to those interested about what they’re drinking. This is not a presentation but a personalised engagement by the sommelier with those who want to learn.Â
On Enigma and Felix, add a sommelier to your cruise on top of the champagne beverage package for $500.

5. Jet Boat Riding
Here’s an exciting way to add some thrills to your charter!Â
Partnering with OzJet Boating, you can enjoy a 30-minute jet boat ride during your experience. OzJet Boating will pick you up directly from your charter, take you on an exhilarating ride around the harbour, and return you to your vessel. It’s spontaneous, fun, and guaranteed to make your adventure unforgettable!
Add an OzJet Boating ride from $1,400 for up to 23 guests.
6. Shark Island
So, not to brag, but we recently had The Killers on board, and as we were cruising past Shark Island, they asked about it.
Naturally, we had to pull in to give the guys a walk around an island of Sydney that not many people have visited. Permits are required, so if you would like to disembark and explore Shark Island for 20 minutes or so, mention it at the time of booking, along with each guest’s full name, and we can organise a permit for $10pp.
